At the heart of FinPlan is a sophisticated client database that is used to record all client details. Every lead is captured using a simple Wizard in order that prospects can be dealt with effectively and professionally.
Additional client details can be added as they become available so that, over time, the records provide a complete and extensive analysis of a client's requirements and current financial position.
Each screen is logically laid out so that the information that is required is clearly displayed. No screen is cluttered and the easy navigation within FinPlan means that key facts and figures can be quickly located.
Powerful ad-hoc notes allow detailed documentation, where required, without sacrificing screen space with unused fields.
FinPlan’s ‘Client Review’ system will highlight recent activities performed with or for the client and provide rapid access to cases under administration or requiring attention for compliance purposes.
Office Organiser
The FinPlan Organiser contains a Diary, Diary Notes, Contact Manager and Office E-mail. The Organiser will manage your day-to-day activities from planning meetings to prompting you to return that promised phone-call. You can share your diary with others so that they can see when you are available for meetings and your diary notes will remind you of tasks to be completed.
Intelligent Diary Notes remember which screen, policy or client you were looking at when you made the note. One click of the mouse and you can jump back to the same screen without the need to relocate the record.
Report Writer
FinPlan comes complete with a flexible report writer and a suite of pre-configured reports including a comprehensive client Factfind and KPI reports. Thanks to the powerful database technology, all reports are quickly generated and may be browsed on-screen before printing.
Letters and Mailmerge
FinPlan harnesses the power of the Microsoft Word wordprocessor to allow standard letters to be generated automatically. Your compliance officer can approve standard letters for the system or specially formatted letter layouts. One click on the tool bar can generate a standard letter for your client complete with an automatic reference; you can then use the many features of Word to add or amend details before printing and filing the letter.
Complex selection criteria can be used to analyse your client data and produce mailing lists that can be exploited to perform targeted mailings with personalised letters.
FinPlan will automatically build a history of all letters generated to your clients along with 'read-only' copies so that you will always have on hand a copy of all correspondence. If your administrator generates a letter you can view that too so that you are always fully aware of each client's current position.
Letters can be emailed to a client at the press of a button.
Compliance and Best Practice
As every financial Adviser knows, keeping on top of your compliance is a major task and one that uses valuable time. FinPlan has been designed to assist in several ways. Standard letters and reports need only be approved once and can then be made available to every consultant. FinPlan has dedicated compliance screens for each policy. Consultants and Administrators can maintain detailed compliance notes and dedicated compliance administrators can be assigned to be automatically notified of every policy that is added to the system.
Administration
The real benefit of FinPlan is realised in a work-group environment; especially where there are one or more financial advisors and administrators working as a team.
FinPlan is designed for groups of people working together. Diaries can be shared (although you can keep private any information you require) and the internal e-mail system means that telephone messages are never 'lost' or forgotten. FinPlan will prompt you before your next meeting and retrieve the details relevant to the client involved. An administrator can update your clients' records while you are away or prepare reports on your clients.
FinPlan is so fast that when a client calls you can have their details in front of you before the call is put through and you can see clearly what stage an application has reached without ever needing to chase up your administrators.

Commission Tracking
The comprehensive commission tracking system within FinPlan can automatically calculate any individual feed deductions such as introducer commission or network payments and display these in a structured format. Management assigned permissions ensure that commission details are only disclosed to authorised personnel and a set of management reports can show business written and issued, commission received and outstanding, pipeline and full commission statements. These can be grouped by consultant or by company.
Commission statements can be generated for advisers and introducers and comprehensive commission tracking reports will highlight missing commission payments and variances in receipts.
Remote Access
FinPlan provides a powerful database replication facility. This allows the linking of remote sites via modem, ISDN or ADSL connections and the use of notebook computers. Client records can be taken off-site by a consultant (if authorised by the manager), and they can then connect to the office to update changes to their clients, receive e-mail and diary changes. Your consultants can work out of office and access as much (or as little) of the FinPlan database as you allow.
Multiple offices can be connected together so that they automatically communicate through the working day, transferring diary, message and even database updates to every connected site. Records that are held at one site can be requested and automatically transferred to the requesting site and then, when required, sent back.
Using a broadband connection it is possible for remote users or offices to access the 'live' client data in real-time
